RADAR
The RADAR Project is led by an Italian consortium and involves a total of 7 different European and accession countries with representation from public sector, energy agencies and academic partners.
The aim of the project is to increase awareness as to how energy can be generated from agricultural and forestry residues within a pilot area.
The first task isd to quantify these and compare the demand for energy in the area with the potential energy available from these residues. A local group of stakeholders representing different sectors across the area is being set up with a board overseeing the project activity. The group will then commission feasibility studies into establishing bio-energy supply chains within the pilot area.
The project study tour was hosted in South Shropshire in April.
