Eco n' Home

Eco n' Home is a pioneering initiative to monitor and reduce the energy consumption of nearly 1000 households across Europe.

The three year project has developed and delivered a new service for advising households on sustainable energy use in their dwelling and their travel. A core element of this service is to provide personalised advice to the householder over the course of twelve months, following an initial energy audit.

The project brings together a wealth of expertise from ten local and regional agencies across six European countries. As a participating agency, Marches Energy Agency have delivered the eco n' Home service in 50 households across Shropshire and are now at the stage of evaluating the reductions made in energy consumption. It is expected that the evaluation will show an average saving of 10-20% in energy, with an associated saving of one tonne of carbon dioxide per household.
